Neuroscience Rat Floor

By Josh Wilson

This rat floor was made by Josh Wilson. Over the summer of 2019, Josh was working in Mark Laubauch's lab and was tasked with replacing the floors in their behavior boxes. The previous floors had been determine to be difficult to clean and maintain, as well as incompatible with future experiments. Therefore, Josh was tasked with creating new floor sthat could be used in future studies and easier to maintain. He made the floors with delrin rods and acrylic plates which he designed and manufactured in DaBL. The delrin rods were measured in diameter and the acrylic brackets for holding them were cut on the laser cutter. The floors were successful and are currently in use in Dr. Laubauch's lab.
